Discover Naran Kaghan Valley
The Kaghan Valley is a 160-kilometre stretch of river, meadows, pine forests, and alpine lakes that ascends from the plains near Balakot all the way to the 4,173-metre Babusar Pass. Naran, the main town in the upper valley, serves as the gateway to the legendary Saif ul Malook Lake — a glacial lake at 3,224 metres whose mythological story of a prince falling in love with a fairy princess has enchanted Pakistanis for generations. The valley is at its finest from June to September when wildflowers carpet every hillside, the Kunhar River runs swift and clear, and the high passes are open to adventure.
