Discover Hunza Valley
Hunza Valley is one of Pakistan’s most celebrated mountain destinations, set along the Karakoram Highway in Gilgit-Baltistan. Surrounded by dramatic peaks, glaciers and terraced villages, the valley combines remarkable landscapes with centuries of culture and history. Karimabad forms the cultural heart of central Hunza, with Baltit Fort, Altit Fort, traditional settlements and panoramic viewpoints nearby. Travelling north into Upper Hunza brings visitors to Attabad Lake, Gulmit, Hussaini, Passu and the striking Passu Cones, while longer excursions can continue towards Sost and Khunjerab Pass near the Pakistan–China border. Hunza works particularly well for couples, families, photographers, and international travellers because many of its major attractions can be explored by road with little or no strenuous hiking. Trips can range from relaxed five-day escapes to longer journeys combining Hunza with Fairy Meadows, Naltar, Skardu, or other parts of Gilgit-Baltistan.
